rtorrent cannot create torrents, but is able to do a lot to upload/download already existing ones.

Here is a good link:

I limit the upload speed on mine so that I still have enough bandwidth out to make surfing smooth. Ktorrent makes it a simple to limit bandwidth both ways or even for individual torrents. I also limited my suse torrent so that the our own torrents had more speed.

Well, either the people trying to get torrents or Comcast or a combination of both throttle my seeds so much that even on my Dell Dimension 4100, a 2024 vintage technology, but a VERY nice old system, barely feels that ktorrent is out there. Have not even had to worry about changing my defaults, but you are right, they are there if I need them.

I believe it was when I got Fedora. Torrents worked the way they are supposed to work. There were so many people grabbing Fedora 9 that I had it downloading in no time at all and I was seeding it for others. When I can I try to leave torrents open a while. I have been trying to keep my group torrents open any time I have the system that there are on available. It may be down this weekend unless people need a seed, in which case I can bring it up again.

UPDATE:

added in ubuntu torrents and 32bit debian torrents......might work on the 64 bit ones tommorrow night lol.
Also added in the 2024.03 Arch torrents as well.

Also, no need to register to see the torrents now.... although only approved registered users can actually upload them.
