EDIT: I can plug in the stone now without getting the message above, but it doesn't register as a P"n" P device with a message box, and I can't find anything in the menus for devices .... where does Arch keep devices?

Open konqueror and go to /media (NOT in your home directory, in the TOP level.... /root /home /media etc etc.... )

.......should be there......

In KDE 4.x I just use the "New device notifier" on the system tray...... it's usually listed there, probably as "Volume Vfat" Wink

I forgot to tell you that I'm using XFCE Embarassed Embarassed
And in a terminal in root's home I only get the users and lost&found --- no /media Sad

do a 'mount' without any arguments. and post the results. also the results of `dmesg|tail -n30` about five to ten seconds after you plug in the stone in would be very helpful.

okay, in this case i can see that the stone is registering as /dev/sdb1

assuming /media/sdb1 exists can you do a `sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /media/sdb1`?
