Media player plugin for Firefox.

Having some trouble with getting plugins to work with Firefox and SuSE 9. I have flash installed but it may have came with the install. But I am having trouble with Java it keeps saying I need to get the plugin and it seems to install ok but it still doesn't work right. And with Media player plugins I am trying to use mplayer and its plugin but it doesn't seem to work right. It takes a really long time to start the applet. Does anyone have some tips on making sure firefox is installed right and the plugins are installed correctly.

maybe try the mplayerplug-in? also, how did you install java? did you symlink the javaplugin to your .firefox plugin directory? sorry i have only installed java in mozilla. konqueror, and opera but im sure its the same as mozilla. btw, i ALWAYS have problems with mplayer plugins embedded in web browsers. its one fo the bad things in linux although alot of people have gotten it to work with plugger and gxine but not me.
