i have been trying to look at some of the different web browsers out there, and have noticed that some are tarballs. what is the easiest way to install a tarball. my wife being the loving woman that she is bought me a book on linux from sybex...only it deals with installing rh 7.3. Rolling Eyes so this book, while it is informative wasn't quite what i was looking for...but bless her heart. any help on the tarballs would help. i know that i can compile the source code but am unsure how to do it.
