Currently I get what looks like blocks of hex in firefox when trying to display chinese and japanese web pages. What do I need to install for these languages to be installed properly?

I want to cut and paste from babelfish so I'll need the klipper tool to recognize the characters too.

Thanks

No idea. Smile

It may be distribution-specific, too...

Sorry, I don't know. I've done some searching around the 'net for an answer and came up empty. Sad

I deal with Russian Characters all the time. If I get pages that are not displayed correctly, I go to view->encoding->Cyrillic and play around trying different things. There should be japanese and chinese there too.

Edit: I just went to the Japanese google and played around and I was able to get heirogliphs looking normally. You should be able to copy and paste too.

I hope I understood your question right.

I went to slashdot.jp before I answered. Very Happy
It came up fine with Ubuntu.

What distro are you running, purefinity?

I upgraded to FC3, and it has much better language support. Thanks everyone.
