I have tried everything that I can think of but I am not able to copy the music from a CD to the hard drive in order to make a music library. Everytime that I try I get the message that the CD cannot be accessed. I can only access and play the CD if I am using a direct CD-Player..

How do i do this? Since I am using Suse 9.1, do they have more stupid rules about copyright as they do with including a DVD player that is not, and is not supposed to work Mad

Are you using KDE? Here's a trick I picked up from Germ. Try using the Audio CD Browser feature of Konqueror. Works for me. Smile

1- Open Konqueror

2- Over on the left hand side, click on the red flag (services)

3- A new left hand pane will open, click on Audio CD Browser

You should then be able to browse your Audio CD and see the .ogg and mp3 folders from which you can copy the music to your hard disk.

Marty, why don't you use Grip. It's a great program. It should be on your system's installation cds. It is really easy to use and it lets you rip the cds encoding it into .ogg format or just like that (leaving it in .wav)
