amaroK 1.2 released 02/13/2005

Quote:
amaroK is a sound system-independent audio-player for Unix. Its
interface uses a powerful "browser" metaphor that allows you to create
playlists that make the most of your music collection.

New features include full support for Audioscrobbler, a 10-band
graphic Equalizer, and the automatic song lyrics fetcher. This release
supports MySQL as a database backend and offers much faster playlist
handling, making full use of the Collection database. Another new feature
is the scripting interface, which allows you to extend the application
easily. There are many usability improvements.

I just discovered Amarok! I installed Amarok version 1.2.3 and I must say, this kicks the crap out of not only any linux audio application, but any OS audio app out there. I am a little more than excited for sure.

It took a bit to install because of dependencies, but this is the FIRST application that has been truly worth the trouble. And really, it wasn't much trouble at all. Smile
