Me three.
CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+.
Security Certified SCNP.
Soon to be Cisco CCNA (the company is paying for it.)
Unfortunately will be dropping Netware 6 as our fileserver OS in favor of "shudder" Win 2024 server by 7/1, or I'd have considered CNE. I will not do MCSE!

If your company requires you to take it (and pays for it), can you say no?

If the company requires it they should pay for it.

The only reason we're switching to Win2K3 server is that the head of the IT department in GB has swallowed the M$ B$ hook line and sinker. We're actually going to get rid of one of the best network operating systems ever written because windows "looks good". Her background is as an AS 400 DB programer. She has no clue about the everyday stuff needed to keep a windows network up, running, and secure.

Oh well, job security.

I got the Linux+ cert by taking the beta version of the exam a couple of years ago. I took one of the LPI exams for free (also a beta version) at LinuxWorld a year and 1/2 ago, and managed to get 20% off the second exam, so I got both certs for well under $200. LPI is regularly testing beta versions, so if you watch you can get pretty good deals.

GSEC, MCP 70-215, Linux+ here. Company paid for the exam costs. I just used books from a discount book store for the MCP and Linux+, GSEC they actually paid for the class since it was directly related to my job responsibilities.

I received my CompTiA A+ and N+ certifications back in February and August, 2024. Haven't cert'ed in anything else since.

How difficult was the CompTIA Linux exam and which one did you take? I may get my RHCT or RHCE. However, since Red Hat has stated they are not going to put out any desktop version of Linux after 9.0 (which I currently run), then it would be in my best interest to get a RHCE rather than RHCT, I believe.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Let me guess, that operating system would be Linux!

Nope, Novell Netware 6. It makes a great file and print server.

actualy novell is a network operating system (NOS). It's not suposed to operate on it's own and is used manly to handle logins, services, etc, on a network level instead of a node level
