1st off, I LOVE SYNERGY! 2nd, Is there no way to make a completely continuous desktop between to computers? I'm looking for a really easy way to transfer files from one comp to another that are right next to each other, I figure a continuous desktop would be the easiest way, but if I can't do that, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks alot nukes, love it, and whoever wrote it, God Bless you!

Konqueror ------- using:
fish.......or sftp

Helpful hint, use a split screen, drag and drop files between computers with ease.

Just remember that you can split the konqueror window........

Top Toolbar
Window > Split Left/Right

Then after logging into a remote system.....ie the one right next to you ...... you can set the other side of the split term to your "home" directory..... then you can drag and drop between computers.

If you want to get real crazy, you can actually fish (or sftp) with konqueror and have 3, 4, 5, 6, or even more split windows......and drag and drop files between ALL systems you logged into. Very handy.

I just got Synergy set up on a couple of Dell GX620's that I recently acquired. Very Happy It's pretty amazing. Both are running Ubuntu, and I guess that someone has written a little GUI for Synergy called "Quick Synergy" that is in the Ubuntu repos. I couldn't figure out how to get a server started with Quick Synergy, but I was easily able to get the client connected using Quick Synergy once I got the server going. Even though it was easy, Quick Synergy is not what I want to use as my final solution. I still want to get the client started with the CLI, because if you quit Quick Synergy, you lose the link between the computers--and that's reeeally impractical. With the CLI, I believe that you can start the client in the background, so you don't have a window open that will kill the link if you close it Rolling Eyes .

Synergy is REALLY cool software!!

In the future, I want to try XDMX on this pair of computers as well.
