Hi All,
My name is Chris LeBlanc, I am a technical recruiter for Volt Workforce Technologies. I currently have an opening for a 6 month contract in Waltham, Ma for a Sr. Unix Systems Admin. Sr. Unix Systems Administration
Responsibilities:
Responsible for operations support on Corporate Linux/Unix systems in an enterprise environment. Responsibilities will include implementing new projects on Solaris services and supportive SAN environment, implementing changes in our Solaris and storage architecture, addressing, and resolving complex problems across mixed solutions (Unix/Linux/Windows/SAN/Nas). Capacity planning, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, documenting and tuning are a key to this role.
Required Skills:
-More than 7 years of hands on Linux/Unix systems administration and enterprise class server experience with a minimum of 5 years hands-on Solaris experience
-5 years experience with enterprise class SAN hardware (HDS preferred)
-5 years of working in large Oracle database environment and Oracle ERP systems
-Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity concepts
-Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts
-Strong knowledge of DNS, NFS, LDAP, and NIS
-Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
Desirable Skills
-Knowledge of Perl and Shell scripting
-DFM and command central experience a plus
-Linux [RHEL] and HP Proliant hardware experience
-NetApp Filer (other NAS filers) experience
-Programming background in any applicable language
-Experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Brocade SAN switches or equivalent technology
-Experience working with hardware and software data replication solutions
Education
-BSCS/BSEE required
