I was also referred to a link for my Sony mp3 player (in the documentation for the mp3 player when I got it).

I don't have it handy right now. Will post when I find it.

*shock*

Sony is normally more proprietary with its standards and electronics than microsoft is with its software.

My problem is, with the process of moving, etc. there's stuff all over the place. LOL. Have to get down to the documentation in this mess I call a computer center. LOL.

Ok, here it is. Finally. LOL.

From the Sony "Important information on software" that came with the player:
Quote:
Included with this product is software, of which permission for use is obtained either directly or indirectly by Sony Corporation (hereafter Sony) through a third party. Make sure to read this important information on the software.

Information on software applicable to GNU GPL/LGPL

Included with the product is software (refer to the following "Package List") which is subject to theh following GNU General Public License (hereafter GPL) or GNU Lesser General Public License (hereafter LGPL). Users have the right to obtain, modify and redistribute the source code of software in accordance with the attached GP/LGPL.

Sony provides these source codes on the following web site. Please visit the following web site to obtain the source codes.
http://www.sony.net/Products/Linux/

Please do not make direct requests for the contents of the source codes.

Package List underneat that in a box (of which I'm not sure is part of this or not? Wait, yes it is:

Quote:
busybox dosfstools e2fsprogs gcc
glibc lrzsz linux-kernel mtd-utils
ncurses procps sysvinit u-boot

So, there you have it.

And, here is the "stuff" for mine - an NWZ-A816 model. Thinking about downloading it, but Amarok's doing fine with it so far (although I can't transfer videos, images, and the likes that I'm supposed to be able to do with it yet).

FYI boys and girls; note the date on the packages. These are 2024 packages. That means they've been doing this for a while now.
