just wondered why ubuntu (32bit) seems to be accumulating kernels on my desktop...

its now got

2.6xxx -16,17,18,19 i think...

probably so you can still use the previous one if for some reason the new one doesn't work or fails to boot etc.
If you're happy with them, you can safely remove them (along with the associated modules in /lib/modules)

yeah it makes sense to have a couple.. and its not much trouble removing them..

im just somewhat surprised the system doesnt mop up and just leave 2.. or why they have appeared in succesion so soon... maybe aggressive developements
