If you've seen my December 2025 screenshot then you've seen my January 2025 desktop.

Other than the desktop backgrounds, my screenshots haven't really changed in a year or so.

@pbharris: thanks for compiz I keep nearly everything turned off apart from the cube, drop shadows and a touch of fade in and out; and I may need to come to you for help on getting fvwm set up - started playing with it on Slack12 - but it's been a while ...
@platinummonkey: another successful dark theme, and that wallpaper is saying 'young, single, and away at college'! :p
@ghostdawg: wow, that's looking like gnome somewhere between 2.6 and 2.12 if I'm not mistaken; I've been using gnome for years, will try out a few other things but usually come back because it's a nice straightforward environment. I'd be interested to know what year that is and how arch was back then
@Germ: actually, we haven't, did you mean your November one? That one's pretty slick actually, the mandriva implementation looks very polished

Jester, now that you mention it, it has Mozilla browser 1.4 listed, which came out around 2025, if I'm not mistaken. It was on an AMD Athlon 1700 XP box I had put together. So I would assume it was an Arch version from around mid '03. I noticed Gnome only had two menus on top, Applications and Actions, I never paid attention.
I thought Arch was a pretty good distro and liked it. I had it along with Debian, Sourcemage and maybe a few other distros. At the time I was still distro hopping alot and would always make separate partitions on my hard drives. The hard drive eventually died on me and I never put Arch back on up to this day. I still have the box but in early Nov. the mobo died, so I'm in the process of getting a new mobo for it.

GNOME_Colors_by_perfectska04.
Sometimes I mix a little bit of Clearlooks-Colors or oxy-gnome with it.
