I was going through some old cd's I have, and found my forces of corruption expansion disc for Star Wars: Empire at War. I was wondering if anyone knows of a linux game that is similar in scope to this. Easy to learn strategy game where you build your fleets and research things to make your fleets better. Unfortunately, I long since lost my EAW cd's, and my keys, so I can't even attempt a wine install of EaW: FOC...

I hear Warcraft: Orcs and Humans is available... that is the old DOS warcraft, BTW.

Me, I'm stuck on playing Roller Coaster Tycoon (original version) under wine.

Would X2: The Threat fit the bill?

Granted you'd only get the demo for free - I found it in portage for gentoo so I expect the demo is probably available in the repos of other distros too.

I gave up after about 5 minutes - drove me crazy Smile

I played x2 many years ago on windows - however on my previous system under Gentoo it performed very badly; sound was garbled, skipped frames etc.

Not tried it on my new one though.

I played x2 on windows also, seem to recall I didn't enjoy it very much.

Freeorion looks awesome.
