For those that like Gnome, here's what the release notes have to say:

As I've mentioned in the Ubuntu 10.04 Beta thread, if you testing and upgrading you will have upgraded to almost full 2.30.0 (as of posting) - still a few packages to go.

It's worth mentioning that Arch has Gnome-2.30 out the door too, and that's on their stable repos.

So if you wanted to have a look at the new Gnome, I'd probably have to advocate Arch over a Beta Ubuntu to be honest. That said, Arch'll give you stock Gnome; Ubuntu 10.04 gives a customized and, to my mind, highly polished version.

To be honest, 2.30 (certainly on Ubuntu) is looking more like a polished incremental update - Evolution feels much snappier, possibly due to the 'clean-up' (removal of bonobo).

Anyway, YMMV, always interested to hear other (constructive Wink ) opinions
