This is a question for those in the "know".
I have been mulling over going to school, the local community college in town offers whats called "Distance Learning", which is, learning over the internet. The only problem I have is they only offer half the courses online, the rest you have to attend in person. I, unfortunatly, don't have a car. You may wonder how I will pay for school if I can't even afford a car..the answer to that is I'm disabled, I have applied for goverment funding. I saw something promising a few days ago in my spambox (my web-based yahoo account Wink ), it was a school offering complete distance learning. That sounded great, aside from the fact that I had two e-mails from two different schools in my inbox. Does anyone know if I should be leary of these schools, I wonder how reputable these schools are.

Thanks

Anything arriving in my Yahoo inbox is SPAM. All of it. I'm letting the account stay full so as to have 'recipient mailbox full, message rejected' notices sent back the the spammers... they do not sell lists with dead accounts. That said, there are some distance learning outfits out there. I've seen a few course lectures and notes from Florida. They looked real, and I've checked out the college with people somewhat local to the campus.... it is real from what they said. I've also seen a course posted from some Australian university, but I've lost the link.

You're just talking about generic learning right?

Just make sure the university/college is accredited.
I saw a whole bunch of ads for University of Phoenix Online a while back, and AFAICT they give out real degrees.
