ok, I'm stumped.
from the man pages:
Quote: | INPUT FILE
The input file is a text file that acts like a timeline or storyboard for your slideshow. In the most simple
form, it is just a list of images. See EXAMPLES for some simple examples of these text files. The input file
also allows for many more special effects that are not available on the command line. Each line contains one
image or effect. It uses the : character as a separator for the fields. Here is the syntax:
[image.jpg|keyword]:duration:subtitle:effect:effect_params
|
i had my input.txt file just like that, and got errors, so i then went back and changed it to this
Code: | /home/mommy/Tribute/steve1.jpg:2
/home/mommy/Tribute/steve2.jpg:2
/home/mommy/Tribute/steve3.jpg:2
|
that gave me some blank video. So i figured i'd try to fadein to all the pictures.
Code: | /home/mommy/Tribute/steve1.jpg:fadein:2
/home/mommy/Tribute/steve2.jpg:fadein:2
/home/mommy/Tribute/steve3.jpg:fadein:2
|
that was taking WAY longer than it should've. So, i'm stumped. Has anyone here used dvd-slideshow before successfully, and would be able to give me an example of the input file?
i went to dvd-slideshow's website and looked at the examples but they are a bit confusing to me, b/c it doesn't label any of the info. |

Just from the manual, the fadein keyword appears to belong on its own line, as opposed to being inline with the image. What process are you following after creating the input file?

Hmmm...seems to hang for me (syntax like your first quoted block there, with some effect lines added). Of course, I get rpm errors on startup...dunno what that's about. I'll try more later.

Got it working with the upgrade - grabbed the .deb from sourceforge, dpkg -i, ran the command on the same file, have video.
