Even if your not a command line junkie, you should at least be AWARE of commands that can cause SERIOUS issues with your system. Here is a link to a great post on the UBUNTU forums on the subject.

really informative post for newbs. I know that when I started using Linux I would've done whatever someone who made themselves out to be a poweruser or "guru" told me. Pretty scary someone would do this Surprised

Maybe it's safer just not to post on Ubuntu forums. That's how I've stayed out of trouble there.
