I am very impressed about Elisa. I installed today Elisa 0.5.9 and it is such a beautiful application. I tried Elisa a time ago, but there was nothing to say about it.
I installed the Elisa-Plug ins how are supporting the Shoutcast http://www.shoutcast.com free Internet radio streaming service. Also nice was the Flickr plug in how allows you to browse and watch photos from the Flickr.com - http://www.flickr.com website. At last, the YouTube - http://www.youtube.com Plug In, where users can upload, view and share video clips.
All together, if you like a eye candy Media Center to impress you friends, Elisa is the answer. It is also available for Mac and Windows.
 + A nice GUI how is a very nice Eye Candy
+ It have all codecs you need based on GStreamer
 -need a lot of memory ( 2GB +) and minimum Pentium D, better a higher Processor.

| meh, xbmc does the trick for me. If only the xbox was powerful enough to transcode stuff on the fly.

| After I figured out I had to edit the config file for my user.... it's pretty cool..... still can't get youtube stuff to work, but it does work fine on my local media ///// videos/pics/music .

This was a example if you like run it fluend with youtube full screen, picture slide shows or audio with a animated background

You need to install some extra stuff then it works.
