Actually, i only registered to leave that one comment. I have my own Linux forums (see website link, under construction) and other websites that i tend to, so i probably will not be back. I happened across this page from a google search on mplayer/macrovision. I figured that the command that the original post used was very close to one of the methods that could be used, but not quite on the money, and was still relevant, and that someone could get use from it, for more than just dvds; so i joined so that i could make that little extra info available.

Actually, you did not.

ddrescue != dd_rescue

They are two separate things altogether.
