I've been trying to upload pics of my grandson to the Photo Gallery but when I browse to the /home/James David directory from the Gallery, it's empty Confused I can click on the Home icon on the desktop and find the folder there, open it and there are the four pics ..... when I try to enlarge them from the thumbnails, Gimp opens up and enlarges them. I've never had this happen before. Previously, whenever I wanted to upload a pic, Gimp has had nothing to do with it, but for some reason, today it does ??? I guess that's why I'm frustrated, I didn't even know I had Gimp installed, so I didn't download the pics to Gimp, I downloaded them to a special folder in /home. Anyone got an idea what is going on, and what I need to do to correct this situation so I can upload the pics to the Photo Gallery ?

Sounds like a browser issue, clear the cache out in your browser, should probably take care of it.

it sounds to me like for some reason Gimp is the default app for opening media files rather than eog (eye of gnome)...

right click on the files and select properties> open with and see what's listed

if the gimp is selected change it to Image Viewer (if it's on the list) or click add to add it to the list.

The above assumes you are using Gnome, if you are using KDE the steps are very similar.

Can a KDE user confirm or deny that last statement? kthx!
