I'm going to have to check into that; had just read about it when I posted above in another thread.

There's got to be a way to get back to the KDE3 style of things in these more up-to-date distros.

I do know that MDV 2024.1 won't have or be supporting KDE3. I know that most other distros have gone KDE4 already, but man, what about the users that really need KDE3? At least an option to install it would be nice until they can get all this KDE4 junk the way it should be.

All I know, is I can't have this. I just can't.

Gnome w/ Compiz fusion running the emerald WM for me

it gets the job done, and is rather pretty to boot.

I got into Gnome when i needed something lighter than KDE 3. it was the only other DE that came on the slackware CD (10.1) so i used it. had a heck of a learning curve to it but now I actually like it better than KDE3.

not that what WM i'm using really matters since 9/10 of the time i'm in a terminal anyway.

Love the looks of kde4 and will try it once it gets more stable and feature full. i may switch back.
