Well, if a cellphone idea works, glad to hear it. I use Verizon, who can also provide a PCMCIA card that uses cell service at data rates faster than my DSL. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=planFirst&action=viewPlanList&sortOption=priceSort&typeId=5&subTypeId=13&catId=409

I guess you didn't get it? I'm 95% sure that I sent it to you.

Sorry, mr_ed. didn't receive it. Where did you send it to?
Safest to PM me I think then I can give you a trusted address but I'd need yours first allow you through the spam blocker.

Nice to see you're awake Smile

If you're still around Mr_Ed?
Maybe we can get this CUPS db transferred?
The problem gets worse as the months flash by. Now I can't find any printer available which is in my database.

I still need to be convinced that 'upgrading' won't break something horribly. As it is, apart from CUPS, it works.

I spent all afternoon downloading and attempting to install the latest (3.0.2) foomatic files, db, engine, etc.
Problem is, even setting the make switch the ppd files are in a directory mu version of CUPS doesn't see.
foomatic puts them into /usr/share/foomatic/db/source/PPD/ but CUPS seems to look in /usr/share/ppd/
cupsys.conf doesn't have any options to force it to look elsewhere so I assume it's built into CUPS and I can't change it?

Also when I attempt to compile the foomatic engine I get a spew of errror messages regarding syntax from the perl source.

Mind you, should I be even looking at foomatic?
