FreeSentral is a full IP PBX consisting of a Linux Distribution, an IP PBX and a Web Graphical User Interface for easy configuration.
In using FreeSentral there are three components involved: Same machine in small, or two servers and remote storage./server
The Yate telephony server program.
The Web server that provides the interface.
The database server that stores all information.

Nice features, too. Very good looking content in screenshots, 3 digit extensions, direct inward dialing, scheduled auto attendant with messages according to state of attendant, music on hold supporting computer audio files in MP3 format and offering play lists, call log set up by extension. Pretty decent, IMO.

Actually, form the sites of several proprietary PBI's I have looked at, this looks as good or better.

I would imagine FOSS could easily take out a few incumbents. Competition seems sleepy, at best.

Nice to see another market getting FOSS attention.
