I am a high school student and I am trying to just add things to my college application and resumé, what are some good certifications I should think about trying to get. This guy is trying to get me to take some IC3 certification, but it looks like a load of crap (not to mention having test demos only available as .exe and somehow making them so that cedega/cxoffice doesnt like them). Thank you for posting ideas.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I got an unconditional acceptance at one of the top uni's in the country from doing no work and listing all the computer-related stuff I'd done on my resume.
The cost of sitting any certifications would be better spent through your college years on things like books etc.

From an employment point of view I would have to say that multi platform experience is essential so I would have have to add the following:
A+
MCSE or at least MCP

Thank you

woop de doo. I don't know every type of Linux certification under the sun.
I don't pretend to know everything - I'm sure plenty of people here outrank me in certain areas. I'm fairly confident Mow (if he's still around) is much better than me with Samba. I don't know why you all think I'm some sort of guru - I like the kudos and respect but REALLY I'm just someone who wishes to give something back. A few years ago I was in the same boat as many of you, and there's still much I have to learn. For the last two years I haven't used anything but Gentoo and Debian, so many of you will be way ahead of me when dealing with RPM and such.
