Upper management won't take it seriously till the barbarians have busted down the gate and are raping the women. Then they'll take it serious. I know of one particular financial institution who have just started doing on-line banking. The system is like a seive and the freaking bank general manager is adminning it.

Or anywhere else, for that matter. Like in hospitals and on heart-monitoring machines. "Oh, yeah, we have to reboot it all the time..." Sad

If you're going to go with proprietary, at least use QNX for embedded devices or a UNIX.
